Posts/comments on wow_ladies (Livejournal) from jemnezymy May 2006 - June 2007 ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1089620.html first post hello everyone. i'm a girl, and i've been playing on the US servers since February (had an EU account before that, cancelled it and exchanged it so that i could play with my American friends). this brings me to my current dilemma: i have a 54 NE Priest who i'm enjoying playing immensely and am very attached to, but i've also been craving some variety; that is, i want to roll Horde. unfortunately none of my friends are interested in rolling Horde and a lot of the fun of the game is lost on me unless i'm playing with good people (not to say i don't solo sometimes). so, i was wondering how to possibly go about picking a server, or finding some new people to play with as well. subsequently a little browsing of LJ revealed this community to me. so, my question for you ladies... could you recommend to me a US (PvP) server with a decent female-oriented Horde side guild, or at the very least, one on which you yourself play Horde? any help will be most appreciated ^_^ ************** thank you for telling me about the database! it looks incredibly useful o_o ************** ah, such a pity... DotH sounds like just what i'm looking for, but i like world PvP. i suppose there is always battlegrounds though and since my Alliance character is PvP i might be tempted to consider it. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1100770.html that was what *I* was going to bring up! it's awfully suspicious if you ask me... ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1114308.html like other people have said, when you get bored, the best thing to do is take a break of a few days/weeks/months. find another game to play or something else to do. it's fun again when you come back ^_^ ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1117150.html it's a bug. my friend tried to use one of the griffs in tanaris and instead of flying off, he found that he could control it at almost ground level like a normal mount to go anywhere around the zone! the bunch of perplexed horde that ended up following him couldn't target him either. eventually he had to log out in order to dismount. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1117598.html i play a shadow priest too! share the love ~_~ anyway, i'd definitely be interested in a DotH on a pvp server... i really hope it happens. until i find some good horde peeps to play with i'm stuck with my (fun, but unfortunately uninterested) alliance friends. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1120536.html i would definitely be interested in this! DotH sounded great to me but the PvE aspect rather turns me off. a similiar guild on a PvP server would be awesome! ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1125978.html America i imagine. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1135161.html not sure if these are the toons that i'll actually end up playing longterm - but i rolled an orc hunter (Gretchen) and a troll shaman (Ophilia). i would be happy to sign your charter with one or other of them at the least. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1165716.html i could never play WoW all by myself. finding friends to play with is most of the fun for me. and if you solo it all, you miss out on cool things like instances...and they're unavoidable anyway if you want to progress your character at 60... so good luck finding a guild! ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1198303.html when i'm shadowformed in a BG and someone says "heal" "healz" "heal u fgt" and refuses to invite me to the raid group or protect my ass when i heal them and 5 horde go "look! a healer! KILL IT!" i will heal in a BG... as long as people are polite and courteous to me. which is practically never. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1202779.html ack, i forgot my password! anyway to retrieve it so i can update? ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1222453.html it happened to me on 2 of my alts at almost full breath; it is indeed a 1.11 bug. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1222684.html i had a similiar problem, ignoring the alts or friends the guys makes usually works in the end, and if your ignore list gets full there's always the Infinite Ignore add-on. but that's not ideal. the guy is clearly not too bright and obviously trying to come on to you, so if he continues you probably -can- report him for harrassment. unfortunately, being nice or tactful to people who keep bothering you ingame rarely works. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1239223.html i completely agree with you, it is VERY creepy. and irresponsible. a 9 year old shouldn't be playing video games all day with people more than twice his age. as one grows older the mental age gap between people much older than you tends to decrease, but a 9 y/o just does not have the maturity to be allowed to play this game unsupervised IMO. our youngest guild members are both 13, but they are both intelligent and the young brothers of our GM and guild MT respectively, and they only play a few hours at the most each day. this game is rated teen, and i would agree that the minimum age someone should begin playing at is 13. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1250578.html hehe, i did the same thing. it's classier than going naked! ************** https://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f337/ymyzenmej/world%20of%20warcrack/e19c2c95.jpg my priest. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1251358.html i'm sorry but that is kinda....creepy. i'm in an RL relationship with someone i met online so perhaps i'm not one to talk -- but until you know someone really well, you can never tell if they are who they say are. and the phrase "in-game girlfriend" to me is just a thinly veiled "someone who i can cyber with on a regular basis". i'm not against cybersex per se - but i definitely wouldn't do it with someone i knew only within the game o_o; on the other hand i understand your friend is lonely, so i would say good luck to him finding a REAL girlfriend...maybe one who enjoys playing WoW too! hehe, then he can get the best of both worlds... ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1287193.html There are no rules and no morals. It entirely depends on who your opposition is, whether they have the upper hand, and whether they want to fight. If you run into someone lower than you, then it's your own moral decision to kill them or not. Remember that if someone is more than 9 levels lower than you they yield no Honor, so killing them is pointless unless you derive pleasure from it. Unfortunately a lot of people do. On the other hand, i've had some very thrilling world PVP with people my own level. the satisfaction of PVP comes from having a challenge. I leveled to 60 on a PVP server as a priest, it took me about 20 days /played time or from the time my character was created in late February until June 4th this year. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1317751.html it's not server specific, i play on several servers and it's happening to me on all of them for the past 2 weeks. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1348046.html so, so true. i've met 3 maybe 4 good tanks in the months i've been playing, and believe me i invite them to my group as often as possible. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1376969.html i used to play on EU realms but switched to US because all my friends played on them. the time difference is very drastic though, primetime for me is 10pm-4am and my guild raids at 1am...this isn't actually a problem for me, but i can foresee it being so for somebody else! and of course i'm sure you know, that you need to buy the copy of the game from the country/region whose realms you wish to play on. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1477296.html it is NOT the priest's job. it's very rude and entirely bad etiquette to make the priest do something like that whilst everyone goes AFK for 10 minutes out of pure laziness. besides, there's usually the possibility of respawns, patrols, or simply not being able to reach everyone's body without aggro, which if the priest were to run back alone would mean that he or she would die again, and waste even more time. of course this can be avoided by everyone running back together. as a priest, i have to say wtf is your boyfriend thinking... ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1531691.html as someone who was shadow specc until very lately... what have those people done to deserve your heals? healing in a bg is entirely different to healing in an instance. why should you heal some complete jerk who bitches and yells at you? what are you going to get out of it? it is not your obligation to heal. not to mention, being a healer is like painting a bright red bullseye on yourself and holding up a sign which says KILL ME PLZ. if you do heal, just count the number of times your pvp chums will A) come to your defense when you're being attacked or B) thank you for your heals. i bet you could do it on one hand... not to mention one other important thing - healing in a bg will gain you less honor than killing will. given as you are "competing" for rank with your own side, it's (sadly) in few peoples best self-interests to heal in a BG. before i re-specced - i am currently disc/holy and not pvping - my policy was generally that if someone asked especially nicely, yes i would heal them. naturally that was extremely rare. i would also drop SF to heal the flagrunner in WSG. i kinda disagree with you about shadow priest heals being weak - we are pretty competent healers, even if we can't go the distance that disc/holy priests can, our heals are certainly good enough for BGs and 5- or 10-man instances. apart from that though, i really think its not your job to heal the ungrateful assholes that run the BGs. ************** just a note - i noticed someone above said they gained more honor from healing in a bg. well my comment comes from personal experience - i could be wrong, but its just my pov... ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1541341.html Yep, erm, hate to say it but as someone else pointed out, the halfway mark to level 60 is not level 30, as you recquire more and more XP with each level... nevertheless, congrats ^_^ I remember the first time I ever did an instance. It was so much fun! ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1541774.html There are quite a few girls in my guild (at least 6), and i know even more who play on my server who aren't in my guild. However, this post brings to mind a particular girl...She is, I hate to say, dumb as a post and plays up a "blonde" image, always flirting with anything with a male voice, even though she has an alleged boyfriend who plays with her. She's always talking about how "sexy" another guy is or how they "want her body" (I kid you not)...basically, a big attention whore. I think it annoys me more that she's a terrible player to boot :s Anyway, she's not the only girl who talks on vent, as I and a few others do, and the most, erm, interest I've ever gotten was one comment when I was new on vent, "(my character) has a sexy voice". Which I can let pass. I guess I'm lucky right now to have a relatively mature and female friendly guild. Sort of a pointless comment...I guess I mean to say, I totally sympathise with you. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1544598.html i got a bunch of consumables (oil of immolation, 2 major mana pots, 1 crystal spire), and trekked up to do this quest all by myself with no other buffs except my own, intending just to do a "trial" attempt without my consumables. however...i very quickly got the hang of it, and although certain i was going to fail for the entire duration of the quest (until suddenly "quest complete" flashed up on my screen and i was like "wha...?" 0_o), i ended up using my consumables and soloing it successfully on my first try. i had some advice beforehand though - bind your key to scroll through nearby friendly targets - CTRL+V doesn't seem to work any longer for showing the health bars of the peasants. use holy nova rank 3 on the skellies. use a mid-rank flash heal and a rank 5 or 6 renew on the peasants. and don't forget, abolish disease (always cure the purple glowing peasants first) bind all the above to hotkeys right next to eachother, i.e 7 8 9 0 worked for me. you *will* need to heal yourself at some point, although sometimes eris havenfire will heal you. i used my highest rank flash heal for this. hope this helps! ************** *bind your TAB key to scroll through friendly targets ************** i probably meant shift+V...anyway i tried different combinations, and it worked for everything *except* the peasants in the quest. there was a thread on the forums about this, apparently the benediction quest is specifically bugged not to show shift+v targets. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1552168.html I craft and enchant stuff for my guildies and friends absolutely free, but when advertising my services in the trade channel i always state (when someone whispers me) that i charge 1g with mats, as this is about the minimum tip that would make it worth my time. and hey, if they want to tip me more - and some people do - then all the better. but why advertise if someone is going to take advantage of me for free? a lot of people in WoW are really tightfisted and stingy. as for when i'm buying services, i always tip between 1 and 10 g depending on what it is. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1762220.html i'm 14k/21k exalted with wintersaber trainers and i can assure you that should you complete the grind you will pick up more runecloth than it will actually take to get exalted with darn. ************** also, re: the wintersaber mount. yes you are crazy and personally i would rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than ever do this grind again. that said, join the club -_- ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/1990962.html it reads the files in your WoW directory, therefore if you don't have WoW installed at work you can't use it. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2008773.html something in the EU versions of the game is programmed inherently different to the US versions i think, so i'm not sure this would work :/ ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2014795.html LOL priceless!! ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2095130.html how did it cost you in repairs? you don't get durability loss for dying in pvp. that said, i feel ya. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2160970.html rofl, this is excellent! ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2161719.html If your boyfriend got his account hacked about two weeks ago, i think that indicates the keylogger (if that is indeed what it was) was on his computer, not yours. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2290732.html If you have cash to spare, why not buy TBC? ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2626896.html instead of signing yourself up for a dungeon, try LFG for a zone (like hellfire penn) with blizz's tool, it will put you in the LFG channel, then you can use it to LFG whatever you want. ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2680348.html I've had some amazing prot paladins tank for me, the only pally spec I see as not being raid viable is Ret. ************** There's exceptions to every rule ^_^ ************** oh hay me too!!11 ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2740406.html Yeah I have a similar experience, not really levelling exactly, but before BC I was doing the Winterspring Mount quests. I met another guy doing the quests and we worked very hard on them together. Turns out he was only 14 as well (I'm 17, most of my friends are older than me though..). We no longer play on the same server due to a couple of reasons but I still talk to him on AIM. Oh, and my current levelling partner, I met by pure chance when on my warrior fighting undead. I was diseased, and he was nearby, saw it and cleansed it then buffed me. I thanked him by saying "wow, a paladin who knows how to cleanse!" -- 6 months later we have levelled a shaman & mage together from 1 to 65...70s coming up ^_^ ------------------------------------ https://wow-ladies.livejournal.com/2837165.html i find that tanks are so scarce these days that i will take a tank of any class (be it warr, druid or pally) if they know how to do their job. each class has its benefits when it comes to tanking and i doubt you will be unwanted as one. ------------------------------------
